  7:30 Spotlight: 'Tis the season for a comedy competition! The Make Up P
 arty is back\, and this time around we're challenging the funny people o
 f the DMV to come up with five minutes of comedy on the theme of THE HOL
 IDAYS. For just $6\, you can unwrap a dozen performances by sketch\, imp
 rov and and stand-up comics. The Make Up Party is the DC Improv's game n
 ight\, open to all kinds of performers. Whether you're hopping on stage 
 or in the crowd\, it's gonna be a good time. Featuring: Host Chris White
  Teams can be one to six people\, and we can take a maximum of twelve te
 ams. If you are interested in participating in the event please let us k
 now by completing the Google form at this link. Once we confirm that you
 're on the show\, buy tickets for your team and get to work! You can pre
 pare stand-up\, sketch\, a pun routine or something beyond category. Imp
 rov troupes can also compete. Performances need to be a maximum of five 
 minutes\, and they need to incorporate the theme in some way. The winnin

  The Make Up Party is the DC Improv's creative challenge. Every few mont
 hs\, we schedule a show and dare DC's creative community to produce 5 mi
 nutes of comedy based on a theme. After a few weeks\, stand-up comedians
 \, sketch troupes and improv teams show us what they came up with. At th
 e end of each show\, the audience decides which team gets to go home wit
 h the cash prize for best performance. The Make Up Party started at the 
 DC Improv in the fall of 2015. People would show up\, a theme for the ev
 ening would be revealed\, and competing teams would have one hour to pre
 pare a performance. The format changed a few years later\, with the them
 es being announced several weeks in advance. In 2020\, we began producin
 g online versions of the Make Up Party\, presented through Zoom videocon
 ferencing. Past themes include: Animals\, Music\, Technology\, Travel\, 
 School\, Food\, Health\, Crime\, Money\, Nature\, Sports\, Florida\, Dea
 th\, History\, Family\, Travel\, Supernatural\, Nightlife\, Fights\, Lux
 ury\, Sci-Fi\, Romance\, Dreams\, Religion\, Celebration. Chris White (o
 fficial website) has been part of the DC comedy scene for more than a de
 cade\, both as a performer and as the guy who runs dcstandup.com. Workin
 g with the DC Improv\, he produces and hosts Make Up Party game nights\,
  Comedy Kumite stand-up tournaments\, Pun DMV events and DC Improv Date 
 Night. His comedy writing on the U.S. presidents has been featured on Mc
 Sweeney’s\, and he has two stand-up albums available on iTunes: “I Take
