SUMMARY:Earthwork Music Collective Ft. Dede Alder\, Audra Kubat\, and Mik
 e Savina
DESCRIPTION:Earthwork Music Collective believes in the intrinsic power of
music to raise both community and self-awareness. Comprised of musician
 s\, teachers\, healers\, farmers\, water protectors\, and community orga
nizers\, they encourage cooperation and collaboration\, using music as a
tool to serve\, heal\, inspire and empower. Hosted by washboardist-at-l
arge Vince Russo\, this monthly series features members from all around
MI converging to create cosmic collabs\, cultivate lasting relationships
with our community\, and elevate environmental and social justice movem
ents. Dede Alder values all people who want to look closely at our lives
and our future and change it\, to propel us forward with our hearts and
minds. The role of the artist is to examine the dysfunction\, the imbal
ance\, the ugliness\, the shadow\, and the beauty - to dive deeply\, giv
e witness\, and ultimately\, if we do our jobs right\, come back with th
e silver lining of hope - the spark that lights the fire in other’s soul
s\, that reminds us of the things we used to know\, of our values as chi
ldren\, of the things that disarm us. At least\, this is why she makes m
usic. Audra Kubat has released 7 albums to critical acclaim in a career
that spans over 30 years. Her methods of composition articulate grace an
d uncover hidden places that defy easy categorization. An offering of st
ark and beautiful reality that possesses experience yet embraces the whi
msical. Her activism in the arts has helped her develop strong relations
hips with community organizations across the region. Audra stewards an i
ntimate listening space\, hosting events on the first floor of her home\
, Detroit House of Music. She works as ECE Specialist for the DSO and pr
oduces workshops for the DIA\, using songwriting as a conduit between vi
sual art and the public. Kubat also works in Detroit Public Schools wher
e she uses music to build new connections to learning. Mike Savina is wh
at's sometimes referred to as a "tone farmer". In his sonic adventures p
laying under the name "miglodesh"\, his ever restless muse is forever in
search of new textures\, tonalities\, and modalities. But to the layman
\, it all comes out as masterful guitar music crafted by a master carver
  of curved air.\n\nTickets: https://www.nstarlounge.com/tickets/p/novear
