SUMMARY:Old Tom & The Lookouts/Billy Dodge Moody
DESCRIPTION:Old Tom & The Lookouts live at the Lizard Lounge with Billy D
odge Moody September 11th at 8 oclock! Led by Alex Calabrese\, Worcester
-based folk project\, Old Tom & The Lookouts blend the introspective gri
t of Americana with the emotional rawness of Indie-Rock. Known for their
brooding lyrics and powerful storytelling\, the band explores themes of
mental health\, love\, and resilience. Drawing influences from artists
 like Counting Crows\, Pinegrove\, and The Band\, Calabrese’s evocative v
ocals and poignant songwriting strike a chord with listeners searching f
or authenticity and emotional depth.“Old Tom & The Lookouts doesn’t suga
rcoat the realities of life in the Northeast. But they presented it. Sca
rs and everything. Set against the backdrop of a tragic but hopeful Amer
ican melody.” – EARMILKOld Tom & The LookoutsLife moves in seasons. Betw
 een birth and death\, we experience joy\, pain\, loss\, triumph\, and ev
erything else in between. The human condition hinges upon such instances
of constant change. Boston singer and songwriter Billy Dodge Moody pond
ers this ebb and flow on his third full-length and debut album for Pasad
ena Records\, Condition. Over a patchwork of Americana\, soul\, and rock
\, he explores family dynamics\, depression\, marriage\, and saying good
bye to friends and loved ones gone too soon with unfiltered candor.Growi
ng up on the outskirts of Boston\, Billy picked up a guitar as a kid and
never put it down. Inspired by everyone from Nirvana\, Led Zeppelin\, a
nd Bob Dylan to Dave Matthews Band\, Cat Stevens\, and James Taylor\, he
absorbed a myriad of influences. In high school\, he notably took guita
r lessons from Chad Stokes of Dispatch and State Radio in between the oc
casional pickup hockey game together. Between attending Villanova Univer
sity\, he cut his teeth on the Boston music circuit. After a year-and-a-
half on Capitol Hill as a press assistant\, he relocated to New York\, p
erforming regularly around Manhattan. He unveiled his independent full-l
ength debut\, Dawn Breaks over Mystic\, in 2014 followed by 2018’s Wildw
ood. Along the way\, he attracted a growing fan base and earned ink from
Boston Globe\, Boston Magazine\, and more. In 2021\, he entered Zippah
Recording in Brighton\, MA to record Condition with producer and enginee
r Brian Charles. This time around\, he tapped into the folk eloquence of
Laurel Canyon with rustic Americana spirit.Billy Dodge Moody Led by Al
