DESCRIPTION:This master class is open only to current ESM and ECMS studen
 ts to attend. About the Artist: Jaclyn Rainey joined the Minnesota Orche
 stra officially in spring 2024 as associate principal horn after serving
  over a year in an acting capacity. She is serving as acting principal h
 orn during the 2026- 27 season. Before joining the Orchestra\, she was t
 he principal horn of the Atlanta Symphony\, associate principal horn wit
 h the Los Angeles Philharmonic\, third horn with the Atlanta Symphony\, 
 acting principal horn with the Naples Philharmonic as well as associate 
 principal horn with the Louisiana Philharmonic. Before joining the Orche
 stra\, Rainey was the principal horn of the Atlanta Symphony\, associate
  principal horn with the Los Angeles Philharmonic\, third horn with the 
 Atlanta Symphony\, acting principal horn with the Naples Philharmonic an
 d associate principal horn with the Louisiana Philharmonic. Rainey\, a n
 ative of Louisville\, Kentucky\, has also performed with the Boston Symp
 hony Orchestra\, Baltimore Symphony\, Buffalo Philharmonic\, Chicago Sym
 phony\, Cincinnati Symphony\, Dallas Symphony\, Detroit Symphony\, Kansa
 s City Symphony\, Louisville Orchestra\, Milwaukee Symphony\, San Antoni
 o Symphony\, Sarasota Orchestra and Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. She ha
 s spent summers performing at the Tanglewood Music Center\, Cabrillo Fes
 tival of Contemporary Music\, Chautauqua Institution\, Festival Mozaic\,
  Lakes Area Music Festival and Mainly Mozart. Also during the summer mon
 ths\, Rainey has served on the faculty of the Brevard Music Center\, Int
 erlochen Arts Camp and the New England Conservatory’s Summer Orchestra I
 nstitute. Rainey has toured with the Boston Symphony Orchestra at Carneg
 ie Hall in New York City and across Europe\, and with the Los Angeles Ph
 ilharmonic in Asia\, Europe and Mexico. She has also competed in solo co
 mpetitions and was a winner in the National MTNA Senior Brass Competitio
 n. When not performing\, she has served on the faculty of Emory Universi
 ty and Georgia State University in addition to maintaining a private tea
 ching studio. Rainey joins the faculty of the University of Minnesota Sc
 hool of Music in the fall of 2024. She received her undergraduate degree
  in horn performance from the Eastman School of Music\, followed by a ma
 ster’s degree at the New England Conservatory of Music\, and has studied
  with W. Peter Kurau\, Richard Sebring and James Sommerville.\n\nMore in
