SUMMARY:makemake presents: Wholly Unwinding (A New Musical) - NYC Premier
 e
DESCRIPTION:Step through a portal where scars become songs and healing be
 comes a celebration. Blending folk concert\, musical\, immersive ritual\
, and joyous dance party\, Wholly Unwinding transforms the audience into
fellow travelers on a journey of radical self-discovery. Come ready to
move\, sing\, and discover what becomes possible when every body belongs
. What’s a Rich Text element? The rich text element allows you to create
  and format headings\, paragraphs\, blockquotes\, images\, and video all
in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Jus
t double-click and easily create content. Static and dynamic content edi
ting A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For
static content\, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dyna
mic content\, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a
rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila! How to cu
stomize formatting for each rich text Headings\, paragraphs\, blockquote
s\, figures\, images\, and figure captions can all be styled after a cla
ss is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested s
elector system. We all have scars. Some seen\, others hidden. Each tells
  a story\, a marker of an experience that\, though painful\, became part
of us. What happens when we don't just look at our scars\, but try to l
earn and grow through them\, honoring how they shaped who we are today?
The immersive experience opens with an art gallery curated from disabled
artists in New York City and an offering of hands-on Alexander Techniqu
e somatic work\, the modality that Hailey credits with launching her hea
ling experience. The audience crosses into the space through a sculpture
portal built from the casts and medical devices Hailey wore in childhoo
 d. Led by Hogfish co-founder and Alexander Technique teacher Matt Cahill
\, the experience of receiving hands-on Alexander Technique guidance con
tinues throughout the piece for the cast and audience. At the end of Who
lly Unwinding\, an inclusive dance party further breaks down barriers be
tween cast and audience\, inviting people with and without disabilities
to celebrate the joy of moving the bodies we have as one. ABOUT MAKEMAKE
‍ ‍ makemake debuts this year as National Sawdust’s annual festival inv

Named after the dwarf planet that reshaped how we define a world\, and
the Rapa Nui creator deity of fertility - makemake is about generating n
ew forms: of art\, of access\, of community. This is a festival that cele
brates imagination\, and the radical invitation to ratify accessibility
by design\, not as an afterthought. This is a festival that centers the
belief that care is crucial\, and that equity is essential. This is a fe

mes next. Expect immersive performances\, evolving technologies\, ecstat
ic raves\, late night conversations\, and unexpected collisions between
artists\, technologists\, activists\, and communities. Rooted in disabil
ity-led design and imagination\, this is a space where access is a creat
ive engine reshaping how we gather\, sense\, and move together. Through
a lens of tech optimism\, we explore how emerging tools can expand agenc
y\, deepen connection\, and unlock new forms of expression. Expect space
s designed for care\, curiosity\, and connection. Expect to move\, to qu
estion\, to co-create. This is a seated performance. If you require acce
