His energetic and rhythmic playing has been a majo r influence on soloists of every genre of American popular music. Louis’ soaring trumpet and gravelly voice were made world famous with such fav orites as Hello Dolly\, Mack the Knife\, Cheek to Cheek\, and What a Won derful World. Trumpet phenom Bruce Harris is an internationally renowned musician and educator and is Artistic Director of Programs at the Louis Armstrong House Museum in New York City. Throughout his career\, Bruce has collaborated with many artists\, to include Wynton Marsalis\, Tony B ennett\, Dave Brubeck and Samara Joy. Influenced by the sounds of both Hip-hop and Be-bop\, he began playing trumpet at age 12\, drawing inspiration from legends like Miles Davis\, Dizzy Gillespie\, and Prince. His early talent led him to perform with Wynton Marsalis through the “Essentially Ellington” compet ition\, later studying under Jon Faddis at SUNY Purchase\, where he earn ed both a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Jazz Performance. Harris has since built a celebrated career performing at iconic venues such as Smalls\, S moke Jazz Club\, and Dizzy’s Club\, as well as appearing on The Late wit h Stephen Colbert and The Tonight with Jimmy Fallon. He has shared the s tage with world-renowned artists\, including Tony Bennett\, Lady Gaga\, Rihanna\, and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra.
