SUMMARY:Lunch Break Poetry: Laurie Allmann and Robert Hedin
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Thursday\, November 5th at 2 PM to hear from local
poets Laurie Allmann and Robert Hedin Laurie Allmann is a Minnesota-bas
ed essayist and poet who writes on themes related to the natural world.
She received a Minnesota Book Award for her creative nonfiction book\, F
ar from Tame: Reflections from the Heart of a Continent (University of M
N Press)\; and a MIPA award from the Midwest Independent Publishers Asso
ciation for her collection of poetry\, An Hour from Now (Nodin Press). H
er essays have been featured in public radio commentaries on MPR and KFA
I\, and published in numerous anthologies. She has been a course instruc
tor for the Loft Literary Center and is a founding co-editor of Agate ma
gazine. Places\, everyone\, embodies its central premise: that every pla
ce in nature is an expression of a complex and beautiful set of relation
ships built over time. It also offers a hint of the wry and engaging ton
e that often surfaces in her free verse as she relates scenes from the d
 aily live\n\nhttps://findlocal.community/event/5a62965a-594c-4729-aac7-5
