or nearly a decade\, Chris Rawlins has been quietly writing\, performing
\, and singing his songs\, earning the attention of one listener after a
nother as he’s matured into one of the finest songwriters to claim a spa
ce in the Americana music realm. He listens to the past while grounded i
n the present\, and writes songs that sound both familiar and innovative
. Rawlins has gone from open mic nights to regional and national tours\,
and from bedroom demos to a debut album\, Bring on the Rain\, that Amer
icana UK deemed “rich and unforgettable.” He remains determined to grow
artistically and professionally\, and his latest release\, Flyover\, is
a perfect example of that ambition. John Stano: Singer songwriter John S
tano’s sound is a distinctive blend of acoustic and slide guitar\, stell
ar rack harmonica\, expressive vocals and insightful songwriting develop
ed over many years of performance and study. He sometimes adds a little
mandolin or cigar box guitar to the mix as well. His style can be descri
bed as a combination of Folk\, Americana and Blues. Initially self-taugh
t\, John went on to study American fingerstyle guitar at the Wisconsin C
onservatory of Music and harmonica with national blues legend\, Jim Liba
 n. John received a B.A. in English and creative writing from U.W. Madiso
n and a skillful use of language adds an original spark to his lyrics. ‘
Green Man Review’ compared John’s music to early Bob Dylan while ‘Dirty
Linen’ was reminded of Country Joe McDonald. John also performs his own
arrangements of folk and Americana artists such as Bob Dylan\, Steve Ear
le\, John Prine\, Gillian Welch and Tom Waits\; and country blues classi
cs by artists including Robert Johnson\, Mississippi John Hurt and Bukka
White. John is a flexible and engaging performer who works regularly at
a variety of indoor and outdoor venues. John has released four recordin
gs of original music. “His vocal resemblance to John Prine may be a plus
for some\, but Stano’s songwriting voice is his own\, apt for the folks
inger’s task of chronicling the local while relating it to the universal
.” The Shepherd Express “His guitar just sings-the tone is lovely and hi
s technique is outstanding.” Bay View Compass\n\nMore info: https://anod
