SUMMARY:HANDEL + HENDRIX With Dither\, R.B. Schlather\, and Ruckus
DESCRIPTION:Two radical innovators. Three centuries apart. One evening. H
andel and Hendrix lived in adjacent homes in London's Mayfair district —
separated by 250 years\, divided by a single wall\, now joined as the H
andel Hendrix House museum. In honor of the museum's 25th anniversary\,
National Sawdust and Handel Hendrix House America present an evening tha
t brings these two radical innovators into direct confrontation. Electri
c guitar quartet Dither open the evening with newly commissioned works t
hat channel Hendrix's experimental language. Director R.B. Schlather and
early music ensemble Ruckus then bring Handel's Deidamia — his final op
era — to chamber scale in National Sawdust's intimate acoustic space.\n\
