SUMMARY:The Giver
DESCRIPTION:Based on the Newbery Award-winning best-selling book that has
become the gold standard for young adult literature. At the age of twel
ve\, Jonas is chosen for a special role in his seemingly utopian communi
ty: Receiver of Memories. Under the guidance of the elder known as the G
iver\, Jonas discovers the hidden truths that no one else is allowed to
experience. He is forced to question everything\, and must decide whethe
r to accept the safety of conformity or risk it all for freedom. In this
page-to-stage performance\, actor Aurea Tomeski portrays the relationsh
ip between young Jonas and his mentor\, The Giver. This adaptation chall
enges audiences to question every value that they have taken for granted
and reexamine their most deeply held beliefs. Told with deceptive simpl
icity\, it’s a provocative story of a boy who experiences something incr
edible and undertakes something impossible.\n\nTickets: https://foxtucso
