 sburg\, Georgia\, he picked up guitar at age 14\, teaching himself by pl
 aying along with his family’s karaoke machine before taking up singing a
 nd songwriting as a teenager. After taking a break from working in his f
 amily’s pawn shop to audition for American Idol in 2011\, Phillips emerg
 ed as the show’s Season 11 winner. Premiering the same day he claimed vi
 ctory\, “Home” became the most successful coronation song of any Idol wi
 nner and helped launch his debut album\, The World From The Side Of The 
 Moon\, which debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and quickly went plat
