Oct. 29th we celeb rate the 5 year anniversary with label darlings Clear Creek SP\, Silver Car Crash\, Tony From Bowling & Gina Gory. Lace Boys is a No Wave Art Pu nk collective formed in Pittsburgh\, PA with anywhere from three to seve n performing members at any given time. The group has been described by their peers both in the indie rock and experimental music scene as ‘havi ng a unique sound\, combining no wave guitar tunings and experimental dr ones along with dance punk accessibility\, heavy emphasis on percussion and a minimalist approach to post punk’. Silver Car Crash is a noisy\, g uitar-driven post-punk band formed in the verdant hills of Pittsburgh\, Pennsylvania. With members active in the city’s DIY circuit for nearly a decade\, they embody the chaos and catharsis that has long fueled the S teel City’s underground. Blending influences that span garage rock\, har dcore\, country\, avant-garde\, and no wave\, the band brews a delicious stew of loud basement rock and roll and raw\, potent poetry– casting so nic spells upon those tuned in. It remains true that ear-catching riffs and stratospheric solos—when done by a band that strikes the right balan ce of taste and scuzz—have never really gone out of style. There’s a raw ness to Appear that is tempting to cite as indicative of a debut record\ , but it doesn’t quite feel right to say that. The rawness isn’t a “roug h around the edges” rawness\, but more like a hungry energy. Tony From B owling sounds like a band absolutely itching to rock and with the chops to stake their claim in today’s landscape of shredders. Gina Gory make s ludgy guitar music that recalls the hooky melodies of a shoegaze-adjacen t band but with the punishing repetition of someone like Duster. Gina Go ry will call to mind the likes of city neighbors Feeble Little Horse wit h their deadpan delivery and fuzzed-out guitars\, but Died Laughing is m ore rooted in horrorcore and doomgazing\, even though the band have stat ed they all hate gore and horror. A Gina Gory song is like if a pop song was deconstructed\, cremated alive\, and then resurrected\, its strong melodies buried in currents of distorted guitars and noise and dissonanc e.\n\nTickets: https://www.etix.com/ticket/p/69498469/michi-tapes-5year- anniversary-pittsburgh-thunderbird-caf%C3%A9-music-hall?partner_id=100\n \nhttps://findlocal.community/event/78dcb753-41a4-4e7f-a438-e3cdd9c761c0 LOCATION:Thunderbird Cafe & Music Hall\, Pittsburgh\, PA URL:https://findlocal.community/event/78dcb753-41a4-4e7f-a438-e3cdd9c761c 0 STATUS:CONFIRMED SEQUENCE:0 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
