SUMMARY:Sat\, Dec 05
DESCRIPTION:Love Nut This Baltimore\, Maryland\, USA-based indie pop quar
tet was formed in the early 90’s by Max Mueller (guitar/vocals)\, Andy B
opp (guitar/vocals)\, Dave Vespoint (bass)\, and Tom Sabia (drums). On D
ec 5th\,1995 their debut album Bastards Of Melody was originally release
d on Baltimore’s indie label Merkin Records before being snapped up by J
immy Iovine and Interscope Records. The album was then re-released in 19
96 by Interscope. Excellent reviews\, non stop touring world wide and he
avy airplay generated sales of 600\,000 plus records/CD’s. Love Nut reco
rded their Interscope record Baltimucho with producer Ed Stasium (Ramone
s\, Smithereens\, Living Colour\, Talking Heads) on a Neve console with
Studor tape decks giving a warmth only tape can provide. Interscope and
all major labels fell victim to the invention of Napster and most major
labels collapsed in early 1998. Love Nut was a rare exception on Intersc
ope’s roster of bands to be paid a large break up fee and given their 2n
d record Baltimucho by the label. Baltimucho was a fine hard rocking pow
er pop collection released on the Big Deal imprint in 1998. After Love N
ut\, Andy Bopp concentrated on his next band\, Myra Splitsville Splitsvi
lle is a legendary power pop band known for their infectious melodies\,
sharp songwriting\, and energetic performances. Formed in 1994 by musici
ans Brandt Huseman\, Matt Huseman\, and Paul Krysiak\, the band emerged
from the ashes of The Greenberry Woods. With a sound drawing from classi
c influences like The Beatles\, The Who\, and The Jam\, Splitsville carv
ed out a unique space in the indie music scene with a fresh\, yet famili
 ar sound. Their albums\, Splitsville U.S.A. (1996)\, Ultrasound (1997)\,
Repeater (1998)\, and The Complete Pet Soul (2001) showcase their knack
for combining punchy\, guitar-driven pop with sophisticated arrangement
 s. Guitarist Tony Waddy joined Splitsville in 2001\, helping the band re
ach new sonic heights on Incorporated (2003.) After an extended hiatus\,
Splitsville has returned with a new album\, Mobtown (2025)\, a love let
ter to their hometown of Baltimore that expands on their timeless sound.
