 he 11 awardees from our recent global call for artificial intelligence-e
 nabled artworks. Together\, we partnered to offer a new development and 
 exhibition opportunity for creatives working with AI. We asked\, as aest
 hetic practices evolve\, how can artists help us interpret new realities
  unlocked through scaling intelligence? Commissioned Creators Cezar Moca
 n\, Colin O’Donnell + Justine Sun Dela Cruz + Will Gardiner\, Grayson Ea
 rle\, Iana Chugunova\, Ira Greenberg\, Kristina Pulejkova\, Miguel Novel
 o\, Parag Mital\, Rashed Haq\, Sasha Sorokina\, Spencer Chang About Scal
 ing Intelligence Generative media\, enabled by models trained at interne
 t-scale and proliferated by agentic systems\, has opened an expansive to
 olkit for artists. At the same time\, there is a prevailing narrative wh
 ere AI inference equates to automation\, homogenization\, and slop. Agai
 nst this notion\, these artists harness the inherent creativity of infer
 ence to expand perspectives\, create novel forms\, and suggest new ways 
 of sensing the world. Each selected artist culture maker collective rece
 ives a cash stipend\, ample materials budgets\, and $20\,000 worth of Mo
 dal cloud computing credits to use as they see fit. Over the coming week
 s\, the artists will develop their proposed artworks with support from o
 ur engineers\, developers\, producers\, curators\, and exhibition design
 ers. The commissions will culminate in a 5-day exhibition at Gray Area\,
  October 28 – November 1\, 2026. Modal builds infrastructure for compute

 pent two decades exploring art and emerging technology\, asking what it 
 means to create responsibly and critically through times of rapid change
 . Together\, we’re thrilled to offer support for creators whose practice
