SUMMARY:Rempis/Adasiewicz/Corsano
DESCRIPTION:BlueStem Jazz presentation Improvisational Supergroup Rempis/
Adasiewicz/Corsano The trio\, considered a supergroup in this niche genr
e\, is headed by alto sax player Dave Rempis and features two other play
ers who are noted in this arena: vibraphonist Jason Adasiewicz and drumm
er Chris Corsano. Most musicians in this genre have laundry lists of col
laborations a mile long\, and these guys are no exception. They came tog
ether as Rempis/Adasiewicz/Corsano during a residency Rempis hosted in C
hicago in September 2024\; Rempis had worked with both in earlier config
urations. But during that residency they felt a special spark and decide
d to continue as a trio\, going on to record their first project Dial Up
\, released just recently. “while all three command broad and unique pal
ettes on their instruments\, there’s never a feeling that technical dazz
le takes the place of musicality. Every motion is in service to the evol
ution and development of the spontaneous sound they bring forth.”\n\nMor
