SUMMARY:Michael Daves & Jacob Jolliff
DESCRIPTION:7:30pm\, 8pm $25 Michael Daves and Jacob Jolliff\, two of Ame
rica’s premier bluegrass talents\, are celebrating the release of their
new duo album We Like Jim & Jesse!\, out on Wild Geranium Records. The r
ecording pays homage to first-generation bluegrass innovators Jim & Jess
e and the Virginia Boys\, combining a studied interpretation of those cl
assic recordings with the improvisational fire and rafter-lifting harmon
ies that Daves & Jolliff have become known for through years of collabor
ation. Daves\, a “leading light of the New York bluegrass scene” (New Yo
rk Times) is Grammy-nominated for his work with Chris Thile and has perf
ormed with many luminaries including Tony Trischka\, Andy Statman\, Bruc
e Molsky\, Peter Rowan\, and Bryan Sutton. His gritty and distinctive gu
itar and vocal style harkens back to the high lonesome origins of bluegr
ass while pairing effortlessly with modern influences. Jolliff has becom
e one of the country's most notable contemporary mandolinists\, touring
with Béla Fleck as part of My Bluegrass Heart\, with Yonder Mountain Str
ing Band\, and with his own quartet. His unique musical vocabulary as an
improviser and elite technical skill puts him in a league with today’s
 very best instrumentalists.\n\nMore info: https://www.viewcy.com/event/m
