About the Book London has more private members’ clubs than any other city. There a re clubs for every interest\, profession\, and background: from actors\, aristocrats\, architects\, artists\, and clergymen\; to sailors\, soldi ers\, journalists\, fishermen\, and spies. Historian and author Andrew J ones will illustrate some of the most beautiful and unusual of these clu bs spanning 300 years of architecture and design —from the oldest clubs in London to the newest. About the Author Andrew Jones is an author who has liv ed in Mayfair–London’s club land–for over 20 years. He writes about cities fo r the Financial Times and has also written on architecture for Blueprint \, Drawing Matter and The London Gardener as well as pieces on London fo r The World of Interiors and the Londonist .
