SUMMARY:GREEN FILM FESTIVAL: Hen (Opening Night!) ~ 6:00 PM
DESCRIPTION:Green Film Festival presents: HEN (Opening Night Film) Why di
d the chicken cross the road? Perhaps she was simply in search of a bett
er life…. Following his cult films Taxidermia and Free Fall\, György Pál
fi is back with a tragicomic tale full of heart and feathers. This compe
lling\, original film tells its story through a chicken's eyes. Our hero
 ine—played by eight real-life chickens named Eszti\, Szandi\, Feri\, Enc
 i\, Eti\, Enikő\, Nóra\, and Anett—departs her wretched life on an indus
trial farm in search of a safe spot to raise her chicks. On her tumultuo
us voyage\, she finds refuge in the courtyard of a crumbling restaurant
in Greece where she discovers love\, confronts the pecking order\, and f
ights to protect her eggs from a greedy owner. Her droll yet touching qu
est for motherhood mirrors the messy compromises and silent struggles of
human lives. Co-presented by SFFILM and Greek Film Festival of San Fran
cisco. Forget the guilt trip\, the Green Film Festival of San Francisco\
 , the mischievous\, tree-hugging cousin of the 29 year old SF IndieFest\
, returns Oct 15-22 to prove that saving the planet doesn't have to feel
like homework. We've ditched the doom-and-gloom documentaries that make
you want to crawl under a (sustainably sourced) blanket and never come
out. The line-up this year pairs sharp environmental storytelling with w
 it\, weirdness\, and unapologetic irreverence. And yes\, our Eco-Horror
midnight movie is back! Whether you’re an eco-curious cinephile or a die
-hard activist\, come join in the fun because if we're going to talk abo
ut the end of the world as we know it\, we might as well laugh\, gasp\,
and maybe even dance a little on the way there. Through this experience
the festival hopes audiences can begin to engage with sustainable soluti
ons to the problems facing the planet.\n\nTickets: https://greenfest2026
