SUMMARY:Handmade Candles
DESCRIPTION:Create your own handmade ceramic candles in this collaborativ
e workshop between the LUX Ceramics and Mixed Media departments. During
the first session\, students will hand-build or decorate a ceramic vesse
l using sgraffito with Ceramic Artist in Residence José Galván Martínez.
After the vessels have been fired\, students will return the following
week to melt\, dye\, scent\, wick\, and pour their own soy wax candles w
ith Mixed Media Artist in Residence Alex Renbarger. This two-part worksh
op guides students through the entire process\, from creating a function

 s. No prior candle-making or ceramic experience is necessary. All materi
als are provided. This class is for adults ages 16+. Pre-registration is
required. NOTE: An art class or workshop running is contingent on a min
imum of 3 participants being enrolled 48 hours prior to the scheduled cl
ass/workshop. Cancellation notices will be emailed\, and you may respond
with an alternate class/workshop choice or request a refund. You’re enc
