SUMMARY:Aclaimed Author Sonora Jha Returns to Eagle Harbor Book Co. to Ce
lebrate the USA Release of her First Book\, "Foreign"
DESCRIPTION:Sonora Jha has long been a favorite with Eagle Harbor Book Co
. readers\, and we're delighted to welcome her back to celebrate the U.S
. release of her powerful new novel\, Foreign. A moving and timely story
  of family\, identity\, and belonging\, Foreign follows Katya Misra\, a
Seattle academic whose carefully ordered life is upended when her teenag
e son runs away to India in search of the father he has never known. Det
ermined to bring him home\, Katya returns to the country she left behind
\, only to find herself drawn into the lives of a farming family confron
ting debt\, drought\, and impossible choices. As their stories become in
tertwined\, Foreign asks urgent questions about home\, responsibility\,
and the ties that connect us across borders and cultures. Praised by Boo
ker Prize winner Kiran Desai as "an exceptionally sharp and empathetic"
novel and by bestselling author Karen Russell as "a superb\, lifeward st
ory\," Foreign is a deeply compassionate exploration of contemporary Ind
ia and the global forces shaping our lives. Sonora Jha is the award-winn

to Raise a Feminist Son. A former journalist in India and Singapore\, h
er work has appeared in The New York Times\, on the BBC\, and in numerou

niversity and lives in Seattle. Join us for an evening with one of the P
