SUMMARY:Jake McKelvie & His New/Old Band Sarah Noell Convinced Friend
DESCRIPTION:Jake McKelvie has traveled the DIY touring circuit in the US
and UK for over a decade\, carving out a niche for himself as a songwrit
er and performer. Known for his off-kilter and whimsical "stream of self
-consciousness" lyricism and charming stage demeanor\, he keeps audience
s engaged both as a solo performer or with his newly minted backing band
\, “the New Old Band". He released his latest LP " A New Kind of Hat " i
n 2024 and has been touring in support of that since. Sarah Noell is a s
inger-songwriter based in Ithaca\, New York. Meditative and curious\, he
r songs swoon and seek after something…something silly\, something spiri
tual. The world outside her window is described often. We see foxes\, a
burned down church\, a glowing cannabis sign\, and friends approaching.
 We hear a single shotgun\, a screaming fisher cat\, a monk chanting\, an
d dogs howling. Shrinking her perspective so\, she expands sonically wit
h rhythmic guitars and flute interludes inviting listeners to tuck in an
d watch the world go by. Convinced Friend is the Providence-based projec
t of lifelong songwriter A.S. Wilson\, blending indie rock with thoughtf
ul\, narrative-driven songwriting and a rich sense of place. Originally
 a more solitary endeavor\, the project explores intimacy\, uncertainty\,
and the ways human connection can help us navigate a difficult world. T
