SUMMARY:Hot Freaks
DESCRIPTION:Hot Freaks with special guest Thesaurus Rex at Turntable in I
ndianapolis on Saturday\, November 21\, 2026! Hot Freaks Watch | Listen
Hot Freaks formed in Minneapolis in the early 2010s\, releasing their se
lf-titled debut LP in 2013—a collection of bright\, danceable indie-pop
tracks with a glossy disco sheen and disarmingly vulnerable lyrics. Blen
ding the emotional openness of of Montreal and Voxtrot with flashes of M
GMT’s playful charisma\, the record captured the band’s tight-knit chemi
stry and earned them a loyal following in the Minneapolis scene. Though
they rarely toured beyond the Midwest\, the group—made up of longtime fr
iends whose relationships stretched back over a decade—became a beloved
local staple before amicably disbanding in 2015 as members moved on to n
ew chapters. Years later\, the internet gave Hot Freaks a second life. D
uring the pandemic\, their 2013 single “PUPPY PRINCESS” unexpectedly wen
 t viral on TikTok\, introducing the band’s heartfelt\, humor-tinged indi
e pop to a new global audience. What began as nostalgia among friends qu
ickly turned into a full reunion as fans discovered the band’s earnest s
ongwriting and infectious energy. Now reconnecting with listeners around
the world\, Hot Freaks are stepping back onto the stage with renewed mo
mentum—releasing rare material\, debuting new visuals\, and turning a ha
ndful of hometown reunion shows into the start of a much bigger return.
Thesaurus Rex Watch | Listen Thesaurus Rex is the Brooklyn-based indie r
ock band that actually invented indie-rock in 2022 shortly after waking
up from a chicken-parm induced food-coma. The band lives up to their nam
e with "witty yet sharp-edged lyrics" (Off The Record). Their diverse mu
sical backgrounds combine to create the bands eclectic sound\, filled wi
th social commentary and narrative which has earned them the distinction
"...The Trader Joe’s\, [...] of the NYC music scene\, because they appe
al to over-educated and underpaid Zillenials..." -The Listener’s Bouquet
