rg/membership AJ Lee & Blue Summit are an award-winning\, energetic\, ch
arming\, and technically jaw-dropping band quickly rising on the nationa
l roots music scene. Originally based in Santa Cruz\, California\, the g
roup met as teenagers\, picking and jamming together as kids at local bl
uegrass festivals until one day\, they decided they would be a band. Aft
er almost a decade on the road\, they have established themselves as one
of the most exciting and dynamic groups in Bluegrass. The band is AJ Le
e on mandolin\, fiddler Jan Purat\, Sullivan Tuttle on guitar\, and Sean
Newman on Bass. The band carries that youthful\, festival-parking-lot e
nergy with them still today\, but at the same time there’s a genuine eas
e and confidence to their music making. Their critically acclaimed third
studio album City Of Glass was released on Signature Sounds records in
2024. 2025 saw the release of a series of covers featuring guests such a
s Lindsay Lou\, Trey Hensley\, Ahn Phung and Kyle Tuttle called Cover to
Cover V.1. Cover to Cover V1 explores the wide variety of musical inter
ests and influences that have helped AJ Lee & Blue Summit develop their
unique sound as a band. “Tear My Stillhouse Down”\, featuring guest voca
ls from Bluegrass and Americana powerhouse Lindsay Lou\, comes from one
of AJ’s favorite singers and songwriters\, Gillian Welch. The band pays
tribute to their California roots with a steaming Bluegrass version of N
ew Riders of the Purple Sages “Glendale Train” featuring Molly Tuttle an
d Golden Highway's own Kyle Tuttle (no relation!). Sully Tuttle\, Molly’
s younger brother\, takes the lead on the early jazz burner “Who Walks I
n (When I Walk Out)” which features inspiring guest appearances from Gra
mmy Award winning guitarist Trey Hensley and renowned flutist Ahn Phung.
AJ takes back the lead on a striking rendition of the country classic “
Takes One to Know One”. The EP closes out with former member Scott Gates
taking the lead on his country ballad style rendition of The Monkees cl
ass and Shrek famous “I’m a Believer”. AJ Lee & Blue Summit are an exemp
lary band so unconcerned with being remembered\, with being enshrined\,
that they have gone about playing songs that will surely be held onto an
d cherished forever. The Cody Sisters band is the very heart of contempo
rary acoustic Folk and Bluegrass in Colorado\, the United States\, and t
he UK. Their propulsive instrumental solos and warm harmonies combine to
grip the listener. Along with bass player Will Pavilonis\, sisters Mega
 n (guitar\, mandolin\, vocals) and Maddie (guitar\, banjo\, vocals) have
forged a new sound that has no equivalent match in the acoustic world t
oday. In May of 2023\, The Cody Sisters released their self-titled EP ma
rking a new beginning for the band. It is their first release since part
ing ways with their former image of “young girls in a family band” and i
t portrays a sense of maturity and musical understanding that reveals a
new dimension to their artistic expression. They set out to explore new
sounds and styles while still holding true to their Bluegrass roots\, an
d they have done just that. This new music is an invitation to connect\,
to feel\, and to journey together through original lyrics and captivati
ng instrumental arrangements. With their brand-new Archipelago\, The Cod
y Sisters contineu to refine and explore a sound that is original\, exhi
larating\, and heartwarming all at the same time. With strong ties to tr
aditional American acoustic music\, they continue to stun their audience
s both in the U.S. and abroad. 3S Artspace is funded in part by a grant
