SUMMARY:Long Story Short: Holidays
DESCRIPTION:Long Story Short: Holidays Wednesday\, December 9 6:30pm Even
 t 7pm Seated Pay-What-You-Choose Starting at $15 Since this show’s incep
tion\, every December theme has been tangentially related to the holiday
season. This year\, we’re taking the topic head on with a show all abou
t the most wonderful time of the year–and more! This could be stories ab
out confessing to an unenthusiastic crush on Valentine’s Day\, getting l
ost at a St. Patrick’s Day parade\, or an unfortunate costume malfunctio
n on Halloween. Of course\, there will be no lack of family drama and hi
jinks during the heady days between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Eve\, to
 o. Come be a part of our holiday tradition of sharing stories to close o
ut the year. Featured storytellers: Announced soon! Long Story Short is
on New Hampshire Public Radio in 2026! A broadcast version of the all Lo
ng Story Short events will air as part of the “NHPR Presents” series\, w
hich aims to work with arts and culture nonprofit organizations across t
he state to bring similar community events to the air. About Long Story
Short: Long Story Short is not just a storytelling event. It’s an opport
unity to share the funniest moments life brings us\, the deepest human e
motions\, and the strangest day of your life with complete strangers. Th
is bare-bones storytelling series\, hosted by Beth LaMontagne\, is free
of pretense and over-rehearsed monologues. The show throws a mix of prof
essional writers\, performers\, and average folks who have no public spe
aking experience whatsoever on stage with just a mic and a spotlight to
tell a personal story based on that show’s theme. What makes Long Story
Short unique is the off-the-cuff feel many of the stories have\, includi
ng each show’s one open mic slot. A brave volunteer from the audience is
selected at random and must take the stage in a moment’s notice to open
the second half\, — not even the host knows what’s going to happen. Fol
