SUMMARY:RIC World Languages Education Fall Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Educational and linguistic uniformity comes with the subordin
 ation or subsequent elimination of other educations\, languages\, and tr
 aditions (i.e. ideocide). This workshop encourages us to Dr. Sánchez-Wal
 ker studies factors affecting acquisition and development of Spanish as 
 a second and as a heritage language such as\, among many others\, educat
 ional context\, and institutional and classroom ideologies. Her latest p
 roject investigates microaggressions experienced by Latinx students in e
 ducational institutions. Born and raised in San Juan\, Puerto Rico\, she
  earned her Ph.D. in Hispanic Linguistics and Second Language Acquisitio
 n from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2019. She currentl
