SUMMARY:Stinted: A Figure Show w/Diana Eaves
DESCRIPTION:Diana Eaves was born in Waycross\, Georgia. She received a Ba
chelor of Fine Arts from Kennesaw State University. Eaves’ work has been
included in various juried exhibitions such as Physique at Kai Lin Gall
ery and New Visions hosted by the Bernard A. Zuckerman Museum of Art. Ea
ves was also the Design Team leader for a sculpture dedicated to Silence
d Voices in the permanent collection of The Southern Museum. She primari
ly works with oil paint but is proficient in other mediums like watercol
or and charcoal. Inspired by contemporary figure painters such as Freud\
, Bacon\, and Saville\, the human form often takes center stage. The pai
ntings are united by expressive brushwork that make the figures buzz. Th
ey often share central\, monumental compositions that refuse to let thei
r presence be ignored. They float against cloudy backgrounds\, built up
by layers of color that peek between each moment of creation. The bent a
nd stretched positions of the figure are vulnerable in their space and a
ppeal to the audience from a voyeuristic approach. By spacing the figure
 s apart\, there is a surreal\, ritualistic quality that a mirrors ritual
s of intimacy. This event will be held in our Gallery\n\nhttps://findloc
