e to see you for Acoustic Alchemy in April! ‘Well at least nobody could
ever accuse us of releasing too much music!’ quips Greg Carmichael on th
e release of their latest EP “The Empire of Lights”\, ‘but I think our f
ans know by now that we’re a little obsessive about only releasing music
when we have something ready that we really love.’ The four tracks on t
heir latest release visit familiar themes for longtime fans\, from the w
estern shuffle of “8\,000 Miles” to the reggae flavours of “Alisio”\, th
e upbeat joy of “Back to Back” to the laid back groove of “Other People”
. ‘We hope there’s something here for everyone\,” says Miles Gilderdale\
, “we’re very lucky that over the years we’ve found fans that just get w
hat we’re doing\, so we can wear our influences on our sleeves and not h
ave to try and fit into any one style.’ With over 35 years of recording
and touring\, the band’s longevity may be due in part to that spirit of
never trying to fit in\, but to just make music that they love\, ‘I feel
really grateful that we’ve been on such a long journey with our fans an
d they’re still there with us.’ Greg says\, ‘We talk after shows and it’
s always such an honor to hear the stories of how our music has been the
soundtrack to so many people’s lives.’ This EP is the first of a series
of shorter musical releases that will eventually combine into a full al
bum.’ Miles says\, ‘We know that these days people listen to our music i
n lots of different ways but I think we all remember the thrill of bring
ing a new record home and listening from start to finish\, so we try and
make sure everything we release works in that way as well as on playlis
ts.’ The Empire of Lights will be released to all music platforms worldw
ide on June 13th 2025 and a limited run of CDs will be pressed to be ava
ilable to purchase at live shows. Artist Website: https://www.acoustical
