DESCRIPTION:Over the last decade\, flutist\, vocalist\, and composer Alex
  Hamburger has been creating her own musical direction. Her acclaimed so
 phomore album\, What If? (Unit Records)\, blends acoustic and electric t
 extures to explore transformation and perception\, while her upcoming du
 o release\, Catalog of Dreams (Challenge Records)\, with Brazilian piani
 st/composer José Luiz Martins\, takes an intimate and creative approach 
 to music that has shaped them. Her music has been praised by All About J
 azz\, Jazzthing\, Bandcamp\, and more as "allowing the listener be immer
 sed within the blurred lines and the harmonious coexistence of light and
  dark that ultimately remind us all of the interconnectedness of our sha
 red human experience." Alex continues to tour across the U.S.\, Europe\,
  and South America with her own project\, as well as as a sidewoman for 
 many artists\, including most recently having co-produced Brazilian pian
 ist José Luiz Martins' Odyssey Mixtape\, winner of the DCJazzPrix. Alex 
 also remains deeply connected to the DC music community as Managing Dire
 ctor of CapitalBop\, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting\, preserving\, a
 nd presenting jazz in DC\, as well as founder of My Body My Festival\, a
  fundraiser for the DC Abortion Fund\, and as a member of the GRAMMY Rec
