  will introduce this screening of the documentary Bob Dylan: DONT LOOK B
 ACK and lead a discussion after the film\, as well as sign copies of his
  new book Bob Dylan: Through the Open Window\, 1956–1963. D.A. Pennebake
 r’s groundbreaking documentary DONT LOOK BACK captures Bob Dylan during 
 his 1965 tour of England\, his final tour as an acoustic artist. The fil
 m follows Dylan backstage\, in conversation with journalists\, and along
 side fellow musicians Joan Baez and Alan Price. Featuring performances o
 f classics like “The Times They Are A-Changin’\,” the film offers an int
 imate look at an artist at a pivotal moment in his career. A landmark of

 eatre. Sean Wilentz is the George Henry Davis 1886 Professor of American
  History at Princeton University. As well as being a highly respected ac
 ademic historian\, the author of several award-winning books\, and a rec
 ognized public intellectual\, Wilentz is a renowned Dylanologist and two
 -time Grammy nominee for his work on liner notes for archival releases. 
 Sean’s latest publication is Bob Dylan: Through the Open Window\, 1956–1
 963\, a revelatory journey through Dylan's early life and meteoric rise.
  An illustrated account of Dylan and his early work\, from his origins i
 n Minnesota to his time in Greenwich Village to the concert at Carnegie 
 Hall that marked the end of the beginning of his career\, the book trace
 s his meteoric rise with expert commentary and an astounding collection 
 of rare photographs and ephemera\, many never before published. The text
  is a substantial expansion of Wilentz's liner notes to Dylan's bootleg 
 album box set of the same name\, which offers a unique aural record—rare
  outtakes\, informal tapes\, and the full Carnegie Hall concert. Here th
 e narrative is enriched with additional commentary and special sections 
 that illuminate both well-known and hidden facets of Dylan's early caree
