About this event
In the spirit of the season, bookseller Jules’ next selection is the gothic horror of Spanish author Layla Martínez, Woodworm, translated by Sophie Hughes and Annie McDermott. Martínez’s haunting debut novel from 2024 delves into the darkness of generational trauma as we discover what did and didn’t happen in a house inhabited by ghosts, angels, saints… and insects. This is a story about the bitterness of vengeance and a book that is beautiful when it’s ugly.
