Shattuck’s journey began with a search for healing after being diagnosed with four different cancers, including incurable, life-threatening lung and breast cancers. Along the way, she explored alternative therapies, Native American healing rituals, and the traditions of India, where she investigated the connections among body, mind, and spirit. Embracing the Miraculous is an account of illness, resilience, spiritual exploration, and the search for meaning in the face of profound challenges.
