About this event

"Alto saxophonists NOAH BECKER and MICHAëL ATTIAS have shared a creative practice for many years. Together, they maintain an ongoing inquiry about the qualities that differentiate and motivate improvisations, the minutiae of saxophone sound production, the commitment to (and defacement of) musical structures, and the relationship between internal and external perceptions when creating music. At DMG, for the first time, they will carry these explorations forward live!"/////////////////////////////////////Flutist supreme ROBERT DICK is renown for is long history of multi-flute explorations. His is an early part of the Downtown Scene (from the mid-eighties) and has worked with other Downtown Heroes and otherwise: John Zorn, Ned Rothenberg, Christy Doran, Marty Ehrlich, Soldier String Quartet, Steve Gorn, Joelle Leandre, New Winds… Guitarist NICOLA HEIN has played here at DMG around a half dozen times so far and each time with a different musician: Viv Corringham, Mia Zabelka, Briggan Krause, as well as a soloist. This will be his second set here with Robert Dick, the last one was great!
