Imaginary Elegies is now Priyo at Pete’s! In Bengali, priyo means dear or beloved, favorite, or precious. Priyo is a (mostly) poetry case created by Ashna Ali, now co-hosted by Ashna and Angbeen Saleem, that is committed to supporting and uplifting local artistic community by beloveds for beloveds to celebrate the genius and love of poetry and performance.This duo is coming together after Angbeen’s poetry reading series with Iris Marble, Imaginary Elegies, ended this summer and hope to continue to grow and create a community of beloveds who shake, whisper, laugh, and scream in delight.Priyo at Pete’s is heart and whimsy and mundane and special and serious, all in one. This month, we’ll be hearing from Noelle de la Paz, Zora Satchell and Not Your Mother. We’re excited to start this fall with a dazzle. Back to school? Nah, back to jewels.
