The Tartan Army has left town, but Boston’s celebration of all things Scottish continues as the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society of Boston presents its annual Concert and Ceilidh, titled “The Old World Meets the New”. Featured artists Alasdair White (fiddle) & Eric McDonald (guitar, vocals) are a duo whose music bridges the deep roots of Scottish tradition with the dynamic pulse of North American folk. Together they seek to create sounds that are both timeless and adventurous, striving for a character marked by nuance, energy and an abiding respect for tradition. Additional music is provided by Stephen Thomforde (pipes). Dance performances by Highland Dance Boston and the Boston Scottish Country Dancers round out the program, highlighting traditional Scottish dance elements…
