About this event
Hip-hop history comes to Pittsburgh as MC Lyte takes the stage at City Winery Pittsburgh for a special night celebrating a groundbreaking career and enduring legacy. A true pioneer, MC Lyte helped redefine what was possible for women in hip-hop, becoming the first female rapper to earn a gold single, the first female solo rapper nominated for a Grammy, and the first rap artist ever to perform at Carnegie Hall. Across an extraordinary career, she has remained one of the genre’s most respected lyricists, continually evolving while inspiring generations of artists who followed in her footsteps.
