Double Conscious: The Homecoming

About this event

Kansas City heard it first in the Dream Room. Then the record went to Europe, came out on November 6, and got released live in Belfast with a beer brewed for it. Now it comes home. The Homecoming is the whole album, live, both sides: the Body (house music, the dance floor) and the Mind (hip-hop, the words), closing on the song where they merge. Special Delivery brings the sound, with DJ Skeme on the decks. And before the second set, we premiere a short film from the trip, shot by BJ Sampson of Sensei Brands, so you can see what happened over there. Fun fact: DJ Skeem opened this run at the Send-Off. DJ Skeme closes it. Different people, same name, one at each end of the trip. It all happens outside in the backyard at Vine Street, around a bonfire, so bring a jacket. Saturday, November 14, 7 to 10 pm. Tickets from $15, with bundles that add the album or a Vine Street 4-pack to take home.
