About this event
When U.S. airspace was closed, 38 planes carrying nearly 7,000 passengers were diverted to Gander, Newfoundland, a small town in Canada. The local residents suddenly found themselves caring for thousands of unexpected visitors—providing food, shelter, clothing, transportation, and emotional support. The musical follows both the stranded passengers and the people of Gander as they navigate fear, uncertainty, culture clashes, friendships, and ultimately a remarkable sense of community. Content Considerations: mild language, discussion of 9/11, and alcohol consumption *An independent producer/presenter has rented the theater for this performance; it is not produced by New Tampa Performing Arts Center. Approximate run time: Two hours. Visit New Tampa Players website for information. 8550 Hunters Village Rd. Tampa, FL 33647 infoNTPAC@HCFL.gov (813) 829-2760
