About this event
One of the modern era’s defining Texas country artists, William Clark Green has spent more than 15 years packing venues with rowdy crowds, enthralled by his distinctive mix of rebellious joy and nostalgic heart. One of the final generation of self-made stars to build a career on relentless live touring, roaring good times, and Friday night sing-alongs, Green has carved his path on stages across Texas and beyond – headlining legendary rooms, festivals, and outdoor amphitheaters, and earning his reputation one crowd at a time. His career has been fueled by the troubles and triumphs of youth, coast-to-coast touring, and multiple trips to the top of the Texas Country Radio and iTunes Country Album charts, all delivered with a gritty, fuzzed-out country-rock style and a wry vocal rasp. With a discography that now reads like the soundtrack to an era and over 400 million global streams, Green’s journey began in humble style as a Texas Tech student at Lubbock’s famous Blue Light, where he became a bedrock part of the Red Dirt revolution. Sharing gigs with friends and compatriots like Wade Bowen, Josh Abbott Band, and Flatland Cavalry, his deep love for the stage has always gone hand in hand with a respect for integrity-first icons like Guy Clark. Before long, a series of self-written albums captured the ups and downs of college life and coming of age, often anchored to Texas touchstones and honed in front of live audiences night after night. Green’s Dangerous Man debut in 2008 was followed by 2010’s Misunderstood. Then came Rose Queen in 2013, featuring the opposites-attract anthem “She Likes the Beatles” (streamed over 40 million times and counting). Inspired by his traveling, freak-show lifestyle – and the Texas town that once served as a circus sanctuary – Ringling Road built on the breakout, cracking the Billboard 200 while reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart in 2015. Later releases Hebert Island (2018) and Baker Hotel (2022), further tightened his embrace of the underground Texas spirit, earning mainstream acclaim from Rolling Stone and recognition from the Grand Ole Opry, while remaining staples of his live set. In 2018, Green launched the Lubbock music festival Cotton Fest, which has become an annual favorite for locals in West Texas and beyond. As his profile grew, he moved to give back, launching the High Cotton Relief Fund to support West Texas farm families in times of need- raising more than $2 million to date. In 2019, he co-founded the Texas supergroup The Panhandlers alongside Josh Abbott, Cleto Cordero (of Flatland Cavalry), and John Baumann, celebrating the community spirit forged through years of shared touring miles. Now a husband and father, Green’s next chapter finds him exploring new roles with hard-earned creative wisdom. His recently released album Watterson Hall features the radio hits Where the Wild Things Are and Stubborn and Remains. Forever on the road, he continues to balance rebellious swagger and tongue-in-cheek charm with a broader perspective – bringing his catalog to bigger stages as a special guest supporting Treaty Oak Revival on their spring and summer 2026 album tour, playing large-scale venues and arenas while carrying the same live-first ethos that built his career.
