Vista Philharmonic Orchestra – The Classics

About this event

BOLOGNE | Symphony No. 1, Op. 11 SCHUBERT | Symphony No. 8, “Unfinished” MOZART | Violin Concerto No. 4 in D Major Alice Hallstrom, violin BEETHOVEN | Symphony No. 8 Maestro Bruce Hangen has programmed an evening of refined beauty and quiet dignity. Joseph Bologne, a contemporary of Mozart and the first composer of African descent to gain widespread acclaim in Europe, is represented by his exemplary Symphony No. 1. Our orchestra performs Franz Schubert’s legendary “Unfinished” Symphony for the first time, alongside Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 4, featuring concertmaster Alice Hallstrom in her solo debut of the work. We close with Beethoven’s Symphony No. 8; often called his “Little Symphony,” it bursts with humor and inventive surprises, sounding spectacular in the intimate acoustics of our Concert Hall.
