About this event

Gustavo Dudamel conducts Mahler’s Fifth, which holds a distinguished place in the Philharmonic’s history and charts a vast emotional landscape in its journey from a funereal opening to a jubilant finale. Mahler’s symphony is also significant in Gustavo’s relationship with the Orchestra, as he conducted it on his second set of concerts in 2009. The German Premiere of Pulitzer Prize winner Tania León’s exploration of sounds from across the Americas opens the concert.
