About this event

Sisters Leah Song and Chloe Smith weave Southern folk traditions, New Orleans swamp culture and Atlanta’s street spirit into a sound all their own. Known for their seamless harmonies, storytelling and spirited musicianship, Rising Appalachia has released ten albums and built a devoted grassroots following around the world, performing everywhere from Red Rocks and Telluride Bluegrass Festival to NPR’s Tiny Desk. Their music is rooted in a lifetime of song collecting, travel and cultural exchange, joined by musicians Duncan Wickel, David Brown and Biko Casini. Their forthcoming album, Trade My Troubles, is a deeply introspective collection inspired by rest, renewal, motherhood, heartbreak and the restorative power of nature and tradition. Due in October 2026, the 16-song album features guests including Aoife O’Donovan, Ayla Nereo, Bonnie Paine and Brittany Haas. Long committed to sustainable touring and community activism, Rising Appalachia’s performances are more than concerts—they are communal gatherings filled with honey-hued harmonies, deep-rooted traditions and a spirit of connection to the earth and one another.
