About this event

Friday, October 25 Kath Bloom: Recognized as a “folk goddess” by the Chicago Reader and an “unappreciated ancestor” of the “freak-folk scene” by Pitchfork.com, Kath Bloom has seen her “haunting and startlingly honest ruminations on love in all its various stages and incarnations” (Austin Chronicle) covered by the likes of Devendra Banhart and Bill Callahan and her records released by revered indie record label Chapter Music, creating “the kind of cult psychedelic-folk following afforded to enigmatic musicians like Karen Dalton and Michael Hurley” (Indyweek.com). Popmatters.com  wrote that “Kath Bloomâs voice can be as sublime as it was two decades ago; it wavers with the same mix of uncertainty and peacefulness” and Pitchfork.com  called her “a supremely intuitive singer and songwriter, precise yet vulnerable in her phrasing and imagery.” We will also be treated to the wonderful sounds of: Greater Alexander  – and Alyssa Wettlaufer  – doors at 8 p.m. music at 9 p.m. $10Â...
