About this event
John Louis is a Minnesota-based singer/songwriter who crafts heartworn country-folk songs. Blending the lyrical depth of folk with the lonesome soul of classic country, his music has drawn comparisons to John Prine, Kris Kristofferson, and Townes Van Zandt (whose songs he occasionally covers). John Louisâs songs have earned national recognition from prestigious songwriter competitions such as the Kerrville New Folk Competition, Telluride Troubadour Competition, and the Rocky Mountain Folks Festival, and get airplay on The Current, Radio Heartland, and radio stations around the country. His recordings feature collaborations with notable Midwest musicians The Cactus Blossoms, Humbird, Ben Kyle (Romantica), Hemma, Razz Russell, and others. A seasoned performer, John Louis brings emotional depth and a touch of humor to the stage through thoughtful songwriting, curation, and evocative performance.
