About this event

Saturdays & Mondays at 7:30 p.m. Sundays at 3:00 p.m. Rachmaninoff’s Vocalise is a landmark piece of wordless longing and quiet intensity. Bay Area native Oliver Herbert performs Saint-Saëns’ Cello Concerto No. 1, a work that unfolds in a single continuous movement, shifting seamlessly between urgency and repose. Closing the performance, Mahler’s ethereal Symphony No. 4 features a soprano in its final movement, which delivers a radiant and transcendent ending. Program SERGEI RACHMANINOFF: Vocalise in E minor for Soprano and Orchestra, Opus 34/14 CAMILLE SAINT-SAËNS: Concerto No. 1 in A minor for Cello and Orchestra, Opus 33 GUSTAV MAHLER: Symphony No. 4 in G major for Soprano and Orchestra Pre-Concert Talks are one-hour prior to performance and open to all ticketholders. Programs, dates, artists, and prices are subject to change without notice. Tickets are subject to availability. All tickets are nonrefundable. Photo by Todd Rosenberg
