8pm, 8:30pm $22 adv $25 dos No Land Collaborators: Oliver Ray (guitar) Shahzad Ismaily (bass) Cornelius Dufallo (violin) Josephine Foster Collaborator: David Shapiro Josephine Foster is a Colorado composer and performer whose "music plays games with our ideas of time and space" says The Guardian. The Nashville Scene describes her work a "fusion of art song and American folk music" and the former opera student is "known to breathe new life into archaic forms, embodying the cultural archaeology of Harry Smith’s old weird America, and has lent her characteristic mezzo-soprano and interpretive wit to over two decades of recordings" writes Blank Forms. You might call Ms. Foster's eerie warbling old-fashioned, except that it evokes a scrambled past that exists only in her own vision: mountain songs that never were, spaced-out hybrids that never will be. - The New York Times No Land (b. 1991) is a poet, artist and filmmaker whose work continues in the lineage of the downtown NYC avant garde— honoring an intuitive vow towards creation. Her art evokes reverence for mystery in the forms of her paintings, drawings, poet-performances with musicians, photographic works, and films. Born in NYC & devoted to its histories, she has been guided by spirit encounters with downtown artists, poets, elders and activists. In 2025, No Land received the Roulette Jerome Foundation Commissioned Artist award and in May 2025 premiered her sonic-poem work Double Twilight at Roulette Intermedium. Her book publications include: Authentic Artifice (Newest York Press, 2018), Threadbare (Translucent Flower Press, 2025), and The Velvet Wire with Anne Waldman (Granary Books, 2024) which can be found in the collections of the Beinecke at Yale, the Getty, the Library of Congress, New York Public Library, and other institutions. As a poet & vocalist, & often bandleader, No Land has performed at Lincoln Center, The Whitney Museum, the William Burroughs Bunker (Giorno Poetry Systems), Rewire Festival, Jazzfest Berlin, Crossing Borders Festival (the Hague), Enclave Festival (Mexico City), Roulette, LaMaMa Galleria (NYC), The Kennedy Center (DC), The Poetry Project, Pioneer Works, Fotografiska NY Museum, & on NYC street corners. In 2024, No Land was a performance artist-in-residence at La Casaforte in Naples, Italy. No Land has worked internationally at the intersections of music, poetry, and voice— fusing realms of jazz, noise, rock, improvisation, and ancient poetical text. She performs her poem-sonic works with different formations of musician collaborators, all of whom are deeply entrenched in historic lineages of the avant garde, jazz, rock, and experimental music communities— Oliver Ray (Patti Smith Group), Shahzad Ismaily, Luke Stewart (Irreversible Entanglements, Moor Mother), Daniel Carter, & others. Her audio collaboration with musician Oliver Ray, “Cremation Piece,” was released as a track on the Fall of America Volume 2 album from the Allen Ginsberg Estate in 2023, alongside works from Philip Glass, Ai Weiwei, and Thurston Moore. No Land’s poetry-sound performances are often accompanied by displays of her cinema pieces and visual art works. She worked extensively on the Martin Scorsese produced film Outrider & on her own short films Mercy- Eyed, Crepuscular, Cremation Piece, & others. An exhibition at Poets House entitled Mercy-Eyed Down The Triple Highway (Oct 2025-Feb 2026) featured her artistic collaborations with poet Anne Waldman. No Land’s art and poem works were exhibited at Off Paradise Gallery in a solo show in the fall of 2024. Her photojournalistic work has appeared in the Whitney Museum, Brooklyn Rail, The Village Voice, at Fotografiska NY Museum, Photo Saint- German (Paris) and in publications by Bill Moyers, Levy Gorvy Gallery, and diSonare. Her cinema work has premiered at The Poetry Project (NYC), Harvard University, Zebra Poetry Film Festival Berlin (2020), the John Giorno Foundation, The Woodberry Poetry Room, & elsewhere. She has taught and guest lectured at The New School, Rutgers University, Poets House, University of New Haven, Naropa University, in Mexican prisons, NYC public schools & at No Land’s experimental art school for young artists. No Land has curated performances, gatherings and poetry readings of her artist peers & communities since 2009 in NYC. Her work can be found at www.maepoe.com Photo credit Richard Ross
