About this event
Rebecca Loebe writes songs that sneak up on you—sharp, funny, and just a little dangerous beneath a disarmingly sunny exterior. At 5′1″, she’s a big voice in a small package, pairing clever lyrics and a wicked sense of humor with a stage presence that makes you feel instantly at ease… right before she knocks the wind out of you. Loebe first caught national attention on Season One of NBC’s The Voice, where she stunned both Adam Levine and Christina Aguilera into competing for her, and her haunting cover of “Come As You Are” hit #1 on iTunes worldwide. A Kerrville New Folk Songwriting Award winner, she’s spent the past decade touring relentlessly and turning every stage into a space where audiences can trust fall into her music. She’s back on the road with new songs, new stories, and the same uncanny ability to make a room lean in. Catch her while she’s passing through — you’ll want to say you were there. TL;DR: Wickedly funny, fiercely honest songs—and a voice you won’t forget. Sarah Blacker captures hearts & minds each time she steps onto the stage. Called “her own artist” by the Huffington Post with music coined as “soaring folk gospel” by the Patriot Ledger, Blacker has truly become grounded in her strengths as a singer/songwriter, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and artist after years of settling into her craft. Based in Salem,. it’s no surprise that each note she sings comes infused with a touch of magic. Inspired by nature, connection and the human experience, Blacker’s hope is that listeners find themselves in the uplifting lyrics of her thoughtfully crafted original songs. While she is regularly compared to Joni Mitchell with her stop-you-dead-in-your-tracks vocals and unique harmonic twists, she arrives with a side of Classic rock n’roll and jazz. Twice named “(Female) Performer of the Year” in the New England Music Awards, a Boston-Music Award nominee and CBS Boston “Artist to Watch,” Blacker has supported Sara Bareilles, Jefferson Starship, America, Paula Cole, Richard Thompson, Leon Russell, Loudon Wainright and Suzanne Vega, to name just a few. We welcome Sarah back to our Me&Thee stage.
