Black Frequencies: Poetry, Sound, & Vision

About this event

At Cannon Street Arts Center. Charleston’s first and second Poets Laureate, Marcus Amaker and A$iahMae , present an immersive evening of poetry, original electronic music, live accompaniment and projected visual art. Rooted in Black cultural traditions while embracing contemporary performance, the evening explores memory, ancestry, joy, resistance and imagination. Books from local poets also will be available for purchase in the Cannon Street Arts Gallery following the performance.
