About this event

Come join The Believer magazine as it celebrates the release of its fall issue. Managing editor Ginger Greene will be in conversation with author Katherine Cusumano. They’ll discuss Cusumano’s feature essay on the indie professional wrestling circuit of the Pacific Northwest. Katherine Cusumano is a reporter and essayist based in Portland, Oregon. Her writing about culture and the natural world has appeared in The New York Times Magazine, Orion, Longreads, and other places. She holds an MFA from Oregon State University, and, in 2025, she received an Oregon Literary Fellowship. Ginger Greene is a writer and editor from Toronto. She is managing editor of The Believer. The Believer, a fifteen-time National Magazine Award finalist, is a quarterly literature, arts, and culture magazine specializing in criticism, literary nonfiction, and immersive reportage on contemporary issues. In each issue, readers will find journalism, essays, intimate interviews, an expansive comics section, poetry, and on occasion, delightful and unexpected bonus items. Founded in 2003 by Heidi Julavits, Ed Park, and Vendela Vida, The Believer aims to give books and artists the benefit of the doubt (the working title of the magazine was The Optimist). Like all good magazines, it has died a few times, but it always comes back to life, thanks to its faithful and devoted readership. This event made possible by support from the City Lights Foundation
