The Sacramento Poetry Center has been a literary resource since 1979. Its main functions are to promote literary readings, workshops and other events to bring people to appreciate a wide variety of texts and literature. Its main event is the Monday Night Reading Series which has been in place for over 40 years. The Sacramento Poetry Center currently publishes an internationally-recognized annual literary journal called Tule Review. It also publishes the monthly journal, Poet News,
