Sofia Goodman's Jazz Jam

About this event

Sofia Goodman Jazz Jam is now a monthly gathering at Vinyl Tap—an open, high-vibe jazz jam led by one of Nashville’s most respected bandleaders. Drummer, composer, and educator Sofia Goodman sets the tone alongside a stellar house trio, creating a supportive space for musicians to play, listen, and connect. Jazz standards are encouraged, as the jam is focused on musicians who want to explore this rich tradition that has shaped music and culture for over a century. The focus is on deep listening, musical curiosity, and good energy all around. Original charts can be included with prior notice. Email thesofiagoodmangroup@gmail.com if this appeals to you. This jam is intentionally welcoming and community-driven, with a strong encouragement for women and underrepresented players to take the bandstand. Whether you’re a seasoned improviser or stepping into a jam for the first time, this is a room built on respect, openness, and shared love of the music. Come to play, come to listen, come to hang. Good vibes only. Always.
